Equality For All!!!
It was quite interesting to watch the news yesterday and watch as two attorneys who have opposite political views, and who were on opposite ends of the election recount back in 2000 have joined forces to fight California's PROP 8. Attorneys Ted Olsen, and David Boies have joined forces to symbolize that the issue is not about being a Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Conservative, Religious, or Not Religious. They have asked a federal judge to block the california ban. The issue goes beyond politics and religion and is about stopping ones constitutional right to equality. Thats right ladies and gentlemen, Equality. I love hearing people quote religion when they talk about this issue. This issue has nothing to do with religion, it has to do with our government, and the constitution. Last time I checked our country has a seperation of "Church & State", which needs to be enforced. In another post I will talk about the need for the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" Policy to be repealed. Soldiers don't care if their battle buddies are gay or straight. All Soldiers care about is that the person next to them is competent at doing their duties and able to save their ass should they come under fire.
